Stamped and colored brick-pattern concrete entry porch in red tones

Stamped Concrete in Dayton, Built and Sealed by the Owner

Stamped concrete gives you the look of stone, slate or brick in a single poured slab, without hundreds of pavers that can shift and grow weeds. At Sensational Concrete, owner Daren Youngberg is on every stamped job, from the layout through the final coat of sealer. Sensational Concrete is based in Dayton.

What we stamp

  • Patios: backyard slabs, patio add-ons, and replacements for tired paver patios.
  • Walkways and front stoops: curved walks and entries that make the front of the house look finished.
  • Porches and steps: stamped porch faces and landings that match the rest of the work.
  • Pool surrounds and additions: new concrete matched to what's already there.

Patterns and color

We use professional stamp patterns for stone, slate, brick and custom looks, plus high-quality color additives. You'll pick the pattern and color before we pour.

How a stamped job goes

  1. Free estimate. Daren comes out, measures, and talks through pattern, color and drainage.
  2. Base and forms. We excavate, compact a gravel base, set the pitch so water runs away from the house, and reinforce the slab.
  3. Pour, color and stamp. Stamping has to happen at just the right point while the concrete sets. It takes a skilled hand.
  4. Joints and sealer. We cut control joints to manage cracking, and every decorative job gets a durable sealer that brings out the color and protects the surface.

Why homeowners hire us for decorative work

Stamped concrete shows mistakes: joints that cut across the pattern, color that varies from section to section, edges that never got textured. Daren spent more than a decade learning the trade at one of the most respected outfits in the area, and he brings that same care to every pour. Our customers point to the finish and the communication:

"Our new back patio is so beautiful. There's an art to what he does." (Orders, Google review)
"Daren and his crew showed up on time and were great at communicating from start to finish. We had additional concrete poured around our pool and they matched up the texture and lines perfectly!" (Rebekah Calhoun, Google review)
"We went from a paver patio to a concrete one and it's just amazing" (Mike Wells, Google review)

Cost

The price of stamped concrete depends on size, pattern, number of colors, site access, and whether old concrete or pavers have to be removed first. Every job is quoted on site, and estimates are free. There's no pressure.

Frequently asked questions

How long does stamped concrete last?
With a solid base, proper joints and periodic resealing, stamped concrete holds up for many years.
Is stamped concrete slippery?
Sealer can make the surface smoother than broom-finished concrete.
Will stamped concrete crack?
All concrete can crack. We cut control joints so any cracking happens along the joints instead of across the pattern, and we lay the joints out to work with the design.
Can you replace my paver patio with stamped concrete?
Yes. We've replaced paver patios with concrete. One customer wrote that they "went from a paver patio to a concrete one."
Do I need a permit?
That depends on the city and the job. Ask us at your estimate.
What areas do you serve?
Dayton and surrounding cities, including Centerville, Beavercreek and Kettering.
